Guess what...we are almost to March and I haven't weighed yet. Since one of my goals was weight loss, I probably should see how I am doing, but at the same time, I haven't been too worried about it since I am also trying to develop healthy habits that will last instead of a diet just for shedding pounds.

But I do want to get more of a routine down. I want to take what I know I need to do, and put it into action- always easier said than done! But one of the ways I stay encouraged is through other people who are way better at this fitness/health journey than I am.

Earlier this year I gave you a list of uplifting people and resources that have been encouraging me on my journey, and today I am sharing a few things that I am going to try to implement over the next couple of weeks. So grab a cup of coffee (I'm having Peet's Coffee in French Roast 😊) and check out what I'm giving a try!

1.) A few nights ago I got on a "health kick". I worked out, cooked a healthy meal, and watched Youtube videos by doctors and fitness vloggers. Dr. Eric Berg was discussing apple cider vinegar, why it helps people lose weight, and why many people should be drinking it daily.

It's not the most exciting video in the world, but it is very interesting and helpful. I plan to drink ACV at least several times per week for a couple of weeks and see if I can tell any difference.

2.) I found this video by Kim July and decided to share it with you simply because I find it helpful to see what people who are health-conscious eat in a day. I want to see portion sizes, grocery hauls, etc.

I find that just seeing/reading about other people being healthy makes me want to be healthy too. Call it a helpful version of monkey-see-monkey-do! So I hope it will have the same effect on you.

3.) I stumbled upon a blog post the other day called, "10 Markings of a Godly Woman". The article wasn't about fitness, health, or weight loss, but as I was skimming through the post quickly to get the gist of it, my eyes landed on the following quote:
"God, the Holy Spirit, is living inside of you, and your body is His dwelling place to do His work on this earth."
This really struck me in two capacities: 1.) this is how much we should love God. We should be a vessel to do whatever will most benefit His glory. But that is another post entirely, so 2.) we should be taking care of our bodies so that we can continue on doing God's work. When our bodies are tired, weak, and unhealthy, we cannot do nearly what we are capable of or called to.

  1. Thanks for sharing what's inspiring you lately! One of my favorite health resources on the internet...one that I actually use, is Robin Long's "Balanced Life" youtube channel. I definitely feel healthier when I'm exercising regularly, and pilates works well for me and I just really enjoy her instructional technique (and the short videos because I don't have the longest attention span, ha!)

  2. Great tips, Kristin! For me, healthy living is all about a routine! I like to meal plan, and (when I'm not pregnant) I also plan my workouts! When it's on the calendar, I feel like I have no excuse to not do it. :)

    1. Haha! That's true! As much as I often hated basketball practice, it was so nice to have a mandatory "workout" already scheduled for me every day! haha!

  4. Love the update Kristin! I have a splash of ACV every morning. I also drink warm lemon water in the morning. Just heat up water and add a splash of lemon. It's a good natural detox. Keep at it!

    1. Thanks, Marsha! I am definitely taking baby-steps. I mean, my brother and I just came home with a box of donuts... but little changes here and there will keep adding up hopefully!

  5. I am so excited/proud of you! I was raised in a home with extremely disordered eating and exercise habits and struggled with my relationship to food a lot growing up... it wasn't until I was 20(ish) that I started to redefine my relationship to food and exercise. I would say what helped me was having an accountability buddy (someone who would take me to the gym with her, take me through her work out routine which was pretty moderate and a healthy mix of cardio and weight training) - I would also start small with changes in my diet - I throughout foods that I felt ashamed about eating but didn't try to limit myself when I had a craving. I started to try to listen to my body for when it was "full" since stress eating is so huge for me. I also would try to have small meals so I never got "Starving" and would binge. Hope that helps some!

    1. Absolutely! Thank you for that, Rachel!
I am very similar. I eat when I am bored, I eat when I'm stressed, and I eat for fun. My relationship to food is soooo messed up and I am trying to retrain myself on that, which requires breaking through some pretty strong habits.
I would love to have an exercise buddy around here, but unfortunately don't really have anyone to fit that description.

  6. For a LONG time I THOUGHT about going to water aerobics at the rec center... I mean probably YEARS. Now that I'm doing it, I love it and find it gives me more energy throughout the day. My point is, if you've thought about doing something healthy that you believed you might enjoy, you probably will. Taking that first step is the key.

  7. It is basic that we comprehend the significance of detox and utilize it to free the tissues of the toxins that we have a tendency to gather after some time so that the body might be reinvigorated and revived and prepared to confront crisp difficulties.https://detoxofsouthflorida.com/opiate-detox/
