Spring is here! Spring is here! I cannot tell you how nice it has been to be able to take baby E to the park and play outside. I have gotten more exercise and sunshine in the past two weeks that I had gotten for the entire month of February!
But for me, Spring comes with insecurities. All these lovely (thin) women all walking around in cute shorts that they got from stores that don't even carry my size. It's really difficult because no matter what I put on, I feel like a frump-monster. No bueno.
But at some point, I just have to realize that we all have insecurities. When it comes down to it, we just have to be ourselves and do our best. I'm working hard, exercising more, and hopefully I will see some results soon. I cannot shy away from people because they are prettier or thinner than me. Neither can you.
Purple Hair, Don't Care
A while back, I came across a picture of a gorgeous girl with plum purple hair. I LOVED it. Some people would look at her and think "she could be so pretty, if it weren't for that hair!", but I thought it was super cool! She was being herself. And this whole idea of someone who "could be pretty" is ridiculous anyway. We all have beauty in some way. I may not love it when someone is covered from head-to-toe in tattoos, but doesn't mean they have no beauty. Do I find their look attractive? No? But that doesn't change the fact that they have pretty eyes or a beautiful smile, or an amazing personality. They are still beautiful.
On a similar note, I shouldn't fret and worry that I don't have on the cutest clothes. I shouldn't worry that I weigh more than them. I shouldn't care if they like my style, or if they think I am pretty or not. We all have flaws, but we all have beauty too. People shouldn't (and hopefully don't) look at me and think "she could be so pretty if...", and if they do, then that is their problem.
Be you, boo!
Don't be afraid to be yourself. If you want purple hair, then go for it! I loved my purple streak in college...maybe I should bring it back?! If you want some ink or a nose ring, then have at it! If you want to wear your converses with you dress, or you never want to wear makeup again, then good for you. Do it! As long as "doing you" doesn't harm your body or go against God, then you do you, girl! ;)You can probably gather after all this that I am kinda quirky! So, I have put together a little list of my favorite styles. Enjoy!

Thank you, Casey! And I know! Isn't it great?!
DeleteYes yes, do not shy away from your gorgeous beauty and what you have to offer. All of us have insecurities but that's what makes us human. Why do we stop being because our mind thinks that our bodies/spirit is something which will make others uncomfortable? Hell no! I am so proud that you are trying to embrace yourself and live life the way you want. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
