Mug-spiration Monday *Vol. 9*

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to be on a more consistent schedule again! It'll probably change, since I am looking for a job and have no idea what it'll be, but I am still so glad I am getting posts written, boxes unpacked in our new house, and slowly getting back into a consistent groove :)

But as far as Mondays go... here's the thing. I always talk about choosing to be joyful and making the most of your Mondays (and your everyday). But one thing I haven't hit on much is when you just really, honestly don't feel like trying. What if today is the Monday that all you could think about when you woke up was how badly you wanted to quit your job, scream at your spouse, blow up at your kids, or send a nasty email to a co-worker. What then?

Honestly, you aren't going to like this answer...

Just get up and work hard anyway. Love your spouse and your kids anyway. Skip the nasty email, the blowing up, and the job quitting. Stuff as many dang muffins in your mouth as you have to to keep your tongue in check. We've got to keep going even when we just don't want to.

Call out to God. Ask Him to help. Confess your sins, forgive yourself and others, and move forward. Basically, get over it and keep moving- but in the right way.

Keep loving.

Keep working hard.

Keep dreaming.

Keep breathing.

Taylor and I have a lot of changes happening right now and I can guarantee we will have days where this advice I'm giving will be imperative for us too. It's just part of life. And that is why I want to encourage you all to live this out. We all need it! Let's live big lives with full hearts and lots of passion, even when that's the last thing we feel like doing.

Have a wonderful day!

  3. I am a believer in Making it a good and joyful day. We can choose to yell, be angry, or act nasty or we can choose to be joyful. I choose joyful!

  4. Good luck with the job hunt! I try to talk to God as much as I can. I have really high anxiety so I speak with him a lot. Happy Monday!

    1. I'm sorry about your anxiety. I have anxiety too. But I am so glad you are turning to God. That is needed! I hope your anxiety gets better!

  5. Good post! Thanks for sharing! This advice is so imperative because there are lots of days we want to allow our fleshly desires to reign, but God says to love and we must put our feelings on the back-burner and God on the forefront of our lives if we want to live like He tells us to. :)

  10. This is really hard to remember when you have crappy mornings & you don't feel like adulting but I agree always better just to keep on keeping on (so cliche, but true). Tomorrow is always a new day.

  12. With where i'm at in life - my version of this is wanting to just stay in bed and hide from the pain, the cleaning i can't do, etc... But, like you said, you've gotta keep dreaming and moving!!

I do think that the advice to keep moving applies to everyone though. I hope things get better.

  13. But the nasty email would be so much fun.... but then it would take care of having to get up on Mondays. :)
